Nothing works until you make it work. According to the law of motion, every object will remain at the state of rest until a force is applied to it. God understands this law that is why He put Adam in the Garden of Eden to dress it in order to make it work. Until there is manpower behind any mechanism, its functionality is impossible. Every workable process has a path (guideline) to follow; and if the details of the process are not followed accordingly, its output will be automatically impossible.
Many people have good visions but the problem has always been a poor executing or management system. Expectation is always frustrated when a system of delivery is poorly instituted or managed. The technical-Know-how of any function is a primary basis for its success. This is why knowledge is an inevitable factor in the pursuit of any dream. Even the bible said that for the soul to be without knowledge, it is not good (Proverbs 19:2).
What then are the inevitable steps in the path of greatness?
1. Singleness of purpose- Focus produces mastery. Jesus had a focus (John 4:34; 9:4; John 18:37); Paul had a focus (Acts 20:18-24; 2 Timothy 4:7, 8). What are you born to do in life? Your life is a gift and opportunity from God for a single purpose. You wouldn’t have been here on this earth if there was no reason to be here in the first place. So, find out your cause and make the most out of it before your time will be over.
2. Information- this is another integral part of a workable system. It is absolutely very important. The bible said that the labor of a foolish man wearies both him and everyone around him because he doesn’t know the technical-know-how of what he is doing (Ecclesiastes 10:15). Knowledge is a guiding light in the midst of darkness. Information provides the light of the day. Nothing makes life easy like dealing with workable facts in regards to one’s pursuit. Foolishness (lack of understanding) or assumption is the mother of frustration. Let us go for information concerning our pursuits. Until you doggedly dig about your pursuit, the “Whys” and “Hows” will never be unfolded. Curiosity is the mother of invention or infinite knowledge. Only those who ask definite questions never miss the road. Dig deep!
3. Discipline- this is placing control over oneself. A man without personal principles or values that birth morality can never go far in life. The ability to wisely use our income, time and energy is the ability to govern our lives correctly towards greatness. Many have built invisible skyscrapers on the lands of immorality. The money and time they would have invested into achieving a good end have been squandered in immorality, because the spirit of failure is driving them to misery. There are evil spirits that motivate people onto futility beyond the energy of the flesh (human capacity to control). We need the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to say “No” to those negative habits of ruin. “It is not by power nor by might but by my Spirit, says the Lord (Zachariah 4:6). The bible says, “He that has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls (Proverbs 25:28). Any ungodly lifestyle can invade it. Many people’s destinies have been swallowed up by such valueless lifestyle. Your ability to place control over your lifestyle will determines your financial destiny.
4. Time management- your attitude towards time will also determine what you will gain out of life. Time is an intangible wealth. It culminates in paper money equivalence, if used judiciously. Wisdom is the ability to manage time and make it result in profitable adventures. Until you manage your time properly, poverty will be your next-door-neighbor.
How do we manage our time wisely?
a. Concentration on our pursuit
b. Setting our priorities aright (doing the first thing first)
c. Involving in profitable relationships (Proverbs 13:20)
d. Adopting good work ethics (Proverbs 13:11; Genesis 26:12-22). Abraham was rich because he was a genuine worker (Genesis 13:2). Be diligent! If you are poor, it is because you are selling nothing- ability, time or ideas.
Avoid the following success killers:
a. Laziness (Proverbs 6:10, 11; 22:29; 24:30-34)
b. Slothfulness (Proverbs 18:9; 12:27; 21:25; Ecclesiastes 10:18)
c. Procrastination (Don’t postpone whatever you can do now)!
d. “Excusitis”- this means making unnecessary excuses. It is a social disease of lazy men. Do your best in life to avoid it). Be prompt in following concluded decisions before the weeds grow under your crops and render them unproductive.
5. Planning and programming- this is where many people are very lazy. Productive thinking will surely involve intensive mental activities like being rational, meditating, creating imaginary pictures that propel passion, etc. Planning is the process of putting down your thought in black and white, devising your end from the point where are. Programming is tagging time to the process of your plan. The time invested in planning is never a waste; it is half way the journey. If you can define the outcome of your decision and are able to strategize the means to the end, not undermining the possible pitfalls, you are on your way to a great success in your pursuit.
6. Mastermind group or cooperative alliance- Monkeys easily display their expertise on trees with branches that are close to each other. Involve able, diligent people of worthy character in your pursuit, if you must be successful. Don’t try to do the job of ten men. It will result to inefficiency and ineffectiveness. These are not good observations in the market place. It is only a sign of greed and lack of trust on people. A good frontier in any business field must not be involved in such attitude. There is no one mission with success at sight. Your ability to network with people will determine the measure of the impact on your pursuit or the result you will get. With all your great talents, if you cannot work with people you will never achieve any substantial goal in life. You need an inter-personal skill to deal with people of great minds. Learn how to involve the expertise of dream helpers if you must succeed in life. Avoid perfectionism, unnecessary criticism, and fault-finding attitude. No man is a perfect creature; not even you.
How to involve people
1. Pay for their expertise expended for you when due
2. Learn to give incentives to those that willingly render help to you voluntarily. Be appreciative!
3. Employ the services of professionals in the areas you cannot function.
Note:
Avoid bearing grudges for any member of your alliance, less you work with animosity. This does not help matters. It is a profitable relationship killer disease. Forgive easily! See you again next time. God bless you!
